Tom Doig is a journalist, playwright and academic. He is the author of “Mörön to Mörön: two men, two bikes, one Mongolian misadventure” (Allen & Unwin, 2013) and “The Coal Face” (Penguin Books Australia, 2015), about the catastrophic 2014 Hazelwood Mine Fire. “The Coal Face” was joint winner of the 2015 Oral History Victoria Education Innovation Award. Tom’s non-fiction has been published in The Big Issue, Crikey, New Matilda, The Lifted Brow and Voiceworks magazine. He is currently a PhD candidate at Monash University, writing a longer book about the Hazelwood Mine Fire, which will be published in 2017.
