Jock Serong is a former criminal lawyer and editor of Great Ocean Quarterly. His writing has appeared in The Guardian, Tracks and Slow Living, and he is a senior writer at Surfing World magazine. His first novel, Quota, won the Ned Kelly Award for Best First Crime in 2015, and his follow-up, The Rules of Backyard Cricket, was shortlisted for the Victorian Premier’s Literary Award. His third novel, On the Java Ridge. concerns Australia’s treatment of asylum seekers, and will be released through Text Publishing in July 2017.
Jock lives and writes on the southwest Victorian coast.
