Abdul Aziz Muhamat

Abdul Aziz Muhamat is a 24-year-old man from Darfur, Sudan. He arrived in Australia by boat in 2013 and was taken to Manus Island, where he remains. Since March 2016, he has been reporting on conditions in the detention centre, and how he ended up there, for The Messenger podcast, produced by Behind the Wire and The Wheeler Centre. He has also spoken out about the situation in detention on ABC, CNN, Al Jazeera, and the Guardian, amongst others.
