Zakia Baig

Zakia Baig is a human right activist, a poet and speaker, and the founder director of Australian Hazara Womens Friendship Network.
Zakia came to Australia in 2006 fleeing persecution like most people seeking asylum.

I write because I can not stay quiet when I see or experience injustices around me. It takes pain out of me and preserves it on the paper. I believe it can educate generations about the ways of lives and injustices of rulers and powerful people. I feel obliged to do so in order to promote equity and peace for all.
